About This Role
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Technical and Medical Support Positions SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-10, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes experience in a wide range of rules or operations for projects involving specialized or complicated procedures requiring substantial training or experience in methods and practices of drafting techniques sufficient to produce engineering drawings involving original, novel, and/or complex designs; knowledge of interpreting drawings, plans and specifications and take action or make recommendations based on preliminary data interpretation or analysis; knowledge of automated systems to create and maintain technical drawings, schematics, project plans, reports, and building/equipment inventory records; knowledge of standard mathematical formulas to make computations; identify and correct deficiencies; and prepare and present reports and documentation requiring a high degree of precision and using a variety of projection techniques to portray unusual or complex designs; knowledge of fire protection and electrical codes and standards, fire protection concepts, containment and smoke removal, automatic sprinkler systems, water supply sources, fire evacuation and shelter operations. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
