HVACJobs.IO (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates hvacjobs.io, a job board connecting HVAC technicians with employers across the United States. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our platform, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using HVACJobs.IO you agree to the practices described here.
We collect information you provide directly and information generated by your use of the platform.
When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed version of your password. We never store passwords in plain text.
Technicians may provide job types, certifications (e.g., NATE, EPA 608), city and state, and an optional resume or experience summary. Employers provide company name, location, and billing information. We do not store credit card numbers or full payment details on our servers.
We collect information about how you interact with the platform, including pages visited, job searches performed, and jobs you apply to. This is collected through server logs and, optionally, through Plausible Analytics (described in the Cookies section below).
We retain emails and support messages you send us, as well as your weekly digest subscription status (subscribed or unsubscribed).

We use session cookies to keep you logged in while you use the platform. These are required for authentication and cannot be disabled without breaking login functionality.
We optionally use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool. Plausible does not use cookies, does not track users across sites, and does not build fingerprints or behavioral profiles. Aggregate page view data helps us understand which features are most useful.
We do not use Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel, or any advertising network tracking.
We do not sell your personal data. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days of the request. Certain information may be retained longer where required by law — for example, billing records are kept for seven years to satisfy tax and accounting obligations.

You can unsubscribe from the weekly HVAC job digest at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any digest email.
You may request a portable copy of your profile data (exported as CSV). We will fulfill such requests within 30 days.
We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your information. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage. All data in transit is protected by HTTPS. Our Neon PostgreSQL database is encrypted at rest.
No system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised or suspect a security breach, please notify us immediately at hello@hvacjobs.io.
HVACJobs.IO is intended for adults seeking or offering employment. The service is not directed to anyone under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us so we can delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes — those that meaningfully affect how we handle your data — we will notify registered users by email and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
