About This Role
Experience GS-13: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Applying a comprehensive range of principles, concepts, and practices related to facility management and maintenance and resolving technical issues that may arise. Utilizing understanding of power generation and utility systems essential to facilities, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, evaporative cooling systems, emergency generators, plumbing lines, pipe grading, and electrical transformer loads. Overseeing complex building systems and construction processes; developing accurate scopes of work and cost estimates. Reviewing and applying regulations, design standards, administrative manuals, and departmental policies governing the procurement of equipment and services to support facility operations. Coordinating with other organizations to modify and adjust plans, methods, and procedures to anticipate and prevent problems and determining appropriate facility maintenance practices based on the structural integrity of buildings and building materials.
