About This Role
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-5300 Industrial Equipment Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. IDEAL CANDIDATE: A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. Completion of an accredited Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Apprenticeship or vocational training program is desired but not always required. Normal color vision and a valid Florida driver's license will be required. A basic understanding of standard methods of combustion, heat transfer principles, and fuel characteristics to install, repair, and maintain heating boilers and domestic heating units and systems. A basic knowledge of pneumatics, electricity, and basic electronics to locate faults in temperature controls and control devices. Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous tasks without restrictions (lifting 50 lbs. unassisted frequently). Strong work ethics, reliability, and punctuality are essential qualities for this role. Our ideal candidate is someone with integrity who takes pride in their work but also is a TEAM player.
