About This Role
To qualify for an Engineering Technician position at the GS-09 level, you must: A. have 2 full years of graduate education or a master's degree directly related to the work of the position; OR B. have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-08 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Installing and troubleshooting the operation of electronic controls, equipment, and systems; investigating project sites to determine the condition of a facility or property; recording observations and technical information; making in-progress inspections; drafting technical graphs and plots to visually explain compiled inspection data. OR C. have a combination of post-baccalaureate education in a related field, and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. To qualify for an Engineering Technician position at the GS-10 level, you must: have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: assisting in evaluating designs and preparing technical drawings in support of an engineering or construction project; investigating project sites to determine the condition of a facility or property and recording observations and technical information; making in-progress inspections; and drafting technical graphs and plots to visually explain compiled inspection data. To qualify for an Engineering Technician position at the GS-11 level, you must: have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-10 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: designing and developing technical drawings in support of an engineering project; preparing project plans including overall project scheduling and engineering requirements; investigating project sites
