reps, trade coaches, association leaders, industry newsletter writers, podcast hosts, YouTube
creators, or consultants who work with HVAC businesses. We review every application to confirm
there's a genuine fit before approving. You don't need a massive following; what matters is that
the people in your network make hiring decisions for HVAC teams.

How do I apply?

Applications are submitted through your HVACJobs.IO account dashboard. If you don't
have an account, create one for free, then navigate to Dashboard → Partner Program → Apply. The
form asks for a brief description of your audience, how you plan to promote the platform, and your
PayPal address for payouts. Most applications receive a decision within 2–3 business days.

Question 3

Is there a cost to join?

Accepted Answer

No. The program is entirely free to join. There are no setup fees, no monthly dues,
and no minimum referral targets to stay active. You apply, get approved, receive your unique
referral link, and start earning when employers you send our way make a purchase.

Question 4

How long does approval take?

Accepted Answer

We review applications within 2–3 business days. You'll receive an email either
confirming your approval and providing your referral link, or letting you know we're not a fit right
now with a brief explanation. If you haven't heard back within 4 business days, check your spam folder
or email partners@hvacjobs.io with your account email and we'll look it up.

Question 5

Can I join if I'm outside the United States?

Accepted Answer

You can apply from anywhere in the world. Payouts go through PayPal, which handles
international transfers. Keep in mind that HVACJobs.IO serves the US market — so the most effective
partners are those who reach US-based HVAC contractors. If your audience is primarily outside the US,
your conversion rates are likely to be lower, but there's no geographic restriction on applying.

How does referral tracking work?

Each approved partner receives a unique referral link containing a tracking parameter
tied to your partner account. When someone clicks your link, we set a first-party cookie in their
browser that persists for 30 days. If that visitor creates an account and purchases
any paid listing plan within the 30-day window, the sale is attributed to you and
commission is added to your balance. The tracking is entirely server-side after the initial cookie —
no third-party scripts required.

What is the 30-day attribution window?

Accepted Answer

The attribution window is how long your referral cookie stays active after someone
clicks your link. If a contractor clicks your referral link today and then comes back and posts a job
on day 30, you still earn the commission. If they return on day 31, the cookie has
expired and the sale won't be attributed. The 30-day window is generous by industry standards and
accounts for the typical employer decision cycle — most people who are going to buy do so within a
few weeks of first learning about the platform.

What happens if a referral clears their cookies?

Accepted Answer

If someone clears their browser cookies or uses a private/incognito window for their
purchase after initially clicking your link in a regular window, the attribution is lost. This is a
limitation of cookie-based tracking and applies to all affiliate programs. The best way to minimize
this is to send referrals to a compelling landing page — someone motivated enough to purchase won't
delay the transaction across sessions. If you believe you've lost attributions due to this, email
partners@hvacjobs.io and we can manually review purchase records on a case-by-case basis.

Can I see which referrals converted?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your partner dashboard shows a conversion log: each click, the date and source
if available, and whether it resulted in a purchase. You can see pending commissions (awaiting the
refund window) and confirmed commissions separately. We don't expose the personal details of referred
employers, but you can see the plan they purchased and the commission earned on each conversion.

Does the tracking work on mobile?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The referral cookie is set on the browser level, so it works the same on mobile
Safari, Chrome for Android, and any other browser. One exception: Safari's Intelligent Tracking
Prevention (ITP) may shorten the cookie lifetime to 7 days for some referral patterns. In practice,
this affects a small percentage of traffic and the majority of conversions happen well within 7 days
of the first click.

What are the commission rates?

Commission rates depend on the plan the referred employer purchases:

• Single Listing ($19): 50% — earn $9.50 per sale
• Featured Listing ($39): 50% — earn $19.50 per sale
• Urgent Hire ($59): 40% — earn $23.60 per sale
• 3-Pack ($49): 40% — earn $19.60 per sale
• 10-Pack ($149): 40% — earn $59.60 per sale
• 25-Pack ($299): 40% — earn $119.60 per sale

Rates are applied to the purchase price at the time of transaction. No platform fees or deductions come out of your commission.

Question 12

When and how do I get paid?

Accepted Answer

Payouts are processed monthly via PayPal. At the end of each calendar month, we
calculate your confirmed commission balance and initiate the transfer. You should receive the funds
in your PayPal account within 3–5 business days of the month-end processing date. PayPal is the
only payout method supported at this time. Make sure your PayPal email is up to date in your
partner dashboard settings.

Question 13

Is there a minimum payout amount?

Yes — your account balance must reach $25 before a payout is initiated.
If your balance at month-end is below $25, it rolls forward to the next cycle and
accumulates until you hit the threshold. There's no time limit on when accumulated balances are
paid — your earnings don't expire, and they'll be paid out as soon as you cross $25.

Do commissions expire?

Pending commissions — those waiting for the refund window to clear — expire if the
underlying purchase is refunded before the window closes (typically 30 days). Confirmed commissions
that have cleared the refund window do not expire. Your dashboard balance reflects confirmed earnings
only; pending amounts appear separately until they clear.

Question 15

What happens if a referred employer requests a refund?

Accepted Answer

Commissions are held as pending during the standard 30-day refund window. If the
employer requests and receives a refund before the window closes, the pending commission is cancelled —
there's nothing to pay out since the revenue was returned to the customer. If a refund is issued
after the commission has already been confirmed and paid, we don't claw back the payout; that edge
case is rare and we absorb the cost. We review unusual refund patterns manually to protect against
manipulation.

Will I receive a 1099?

Accepted Answer

If you're a US-based partner and earn $600 or more in a calendar year, we're required
to file a 1099-NEC with the IRS and send you a copy. We collect your tax information (name, address,
and SSN or EIN) through a W-9 form in your partner dashboard before your first payout. Non-US
partners may be required to complete a W-8BEN form instead. Make sure your tax information is on
file before your first payout to avoid processing delays.

Question 17

Do I need to report partner income on my taxes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Commission income earned through the partner program is taxable income in the
United States regardless of whether you receive a 1099. If you earn less than $600, you won't
receive a 1099 from us, but you're still required to report the income. We recommend keeping your
own records of earnings and payouts. This isn't tax advice — consult a tax professional if you have
questions about how partner income affects your specific tax situation.

Is there a partner agreement?

Yes. When you apply and are approved, you agree to the HVACJobs.IO Partner Program
Terms. The key provisions cover acceptable promotion practices (no spam, no misleading claims, no
paid search on branded terms without prior approval), prohibited traffic sources, and the grounds
for account suspension. The full terms are available in your dashboard once approved. If you have

What promotional materials do you provide?

After approval, your partner dashboard gives you access to your unique referral link,
a short-link version suitable for social posts, and basic copy snippets you can adapt for your
audience. We don't provide a formal media kit or pre-built banners at this stage — the most
effective partners write their own context-specific endorsements rather than using generic copy.

Question 20

Can I run paid ads using my referral link?

Accepted Answer

You may run paid ads on general HVAC industry search terms, trade publications, or
social platforms. You may NOT bid on branded search terms — specifically "HVACJobs.IO", "HVAC Jobs IO",
or close variants — as this competes with our own ad spend and inflates costs for both sides. Violating
the paid search policy is grounds for immediate program suspension. If you're unsure whether a
specific keyword or ad placement is allowed, ask before spending money on it.

Question 21

Can I use the HVACJobs.IO logo in my content?

Accepted Answer

Approved partners may use the HVACJobs.IO wordmark and logo in editorial contexts —
blog posts, newsletters, video thumbnails, and social content — as long as the use is accurate and
not misleading. Don't imply a formal endorsement, partnership, or sponsorship beyond what's true.
Don't alter the logo colors or proportions. Don't use the logo in a way that implies you're an
official HVACJobs.IO product or property. If you want to feature the logo prominently in a campaign,
email partners@hvacjobs.io to confirm the specific use is fine before publishing.
