HVAC Project Manager

We are looking for an HVAC Project Manager to oversee our mechanical construction projects. You will carry a portfolio of 5-15 concurrent projects ranging from light commercial tenant improvements to large-scale mechanical system replacements. The role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to read mechanical drawings, and the credibility to manage field crews, subcontractors, and client stakeholders simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Manage HVAC construction projects from award through commissioning and punch list completion
Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with field superintendents and subcontractors
Track project costs against budgets and prepare monthly cost-to-complete forecasts
Submit and track RFIs, submittals, and change orders through general contractors or directly with owners
Coordinate equipment procurement, delivery scheduling, and staging with the purchasing team
Manage relationships with mechanical subcontractors on projects where we are the GC
Conduct project kickoff, progress, and closeout meetings with clients, GCs, and design teams
Review shop drawings and equipment submittals for compliance with project specifications
Coordinate building permit applications and inspections with local authorities
Ensure field crews have current drawings, specifications, and equipment documentation
Manage warranty documentation, O&M manual compilation, and commissioning reports at project closeout

Requirements

3+ years of HVAC construction project management experience
Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and architectural plans and specifications
Experience managing project budgets from $100K to $5M+
Proficiency with project management software (Procore, Buildertrend, or similar)
Strong written communication for submittals, RFIs, and client correspondence
Valid driver's license — site visits are a regular part of the role
OSHA 10 certification

Preferred Qualifications

NATE certification or equivalent mechanical field experience
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
OSHA 30 certification
Experience with Design-Build mechanical projects
Familiarity with Sage, Viewpoint, or similar construction ERP systems
